IoT Egypt Forum was founded by Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) of Information Technology industry Development Agency (ITIDA) on 2014. Participants from governmental, educational, Civil community and private sector formed the Steering Committee to achieve the goals of the forum.
In November 2023 , the forum was relaunched under the supervision of National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and Information Technology industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
Vision
Enabling the industry to reach a competitive society and making more informed decisions to obtain better results for individuals, institutions, companies and various sectors in the Arab Republic of Egypt, by adapting the Internet of Things to serve society by connecting data, devices, people, processes and things securely to the Internet, which helps enhance the success and productivity of the country in the future.
Mission
Providing an appropriate environment to promote and disseminate the use of IoT services in the Egyptian market, especially in strategic and national projects and smart systems that achieve development for the country, discuss challenges that impede the spread of these services and technologies, and bridge the gap between technological developments and actual market needs.
Goals
- Enhancing cooperation between the various sectors and institutions in the country with the aim of encouraging investment and promoting and spreading the use of Internet of Things services in the Egyptian market.
- Work to overcome the challenges that hinder the spread of Internet services in the Egyptian market.
- Implementation of prototypes and applications (encouraging the contribution of local manufacturing) related to the Internet of Things with a return on the sectors of the country.
- Make Awareness, education and development of human resources in the field of the Internet of Things.
