The main goals of the workgroup 1 are:
- Monitoring and studying the challenges and obstacles facing the spread of Internet of Things technology and services
- Develop a vision of the necessary solutions and recommendations to increase the spread of the service and enhance its use
- Develop recommendations to stimulate the environment supportive of the investment of local and international companies
- Discussing regulatory and legislative frameworks and proposing updates in the light of best practices and global experiences
- Develop recommendations to secure national systems and projects and critical infrastructure for Internet of Things services
- Develop recommendations for procedures for approving the type of equipment, whether locally manufactured or imported
- Any other items proposed and approved by the workgroup members
